After standing on my feet all day in my classroom for work, I often go home and just sit on the couch. I stand almost 8 hours per day, so I really do not feel like going home and doing more of it all night long. Between these two things, I found myself having severe pain across my shoulders and lower back day after day. I tried many things, but nothing helped me like seeing a chiropractor in San Jose did. It was a long road to feeling normal once again, but I am glad I finally made it. I did not want to lose my job, and I was running out options.
I became a schoolteacher because I love kids. I felt that I had a calling to teach them from a very young age. I used to hang around the preschool in my neighborhood because I knew the owner and she let me help with all the little kids. I always had so much fun putting together activities for the kids. She finally hired me full time, and I spent 5 years there helping out. I finally decided that I needed to go to school to become a teacher. I teach second grade and I love every moment of it, except for the standing on my feet part of it. I’m a PE teacher, so I don’t have the ability to go sit down at a desk like most teachers do. It took a toll on me, and I wondered if I was going to have to give up the job that I love so much.
When I went to the chiropractor, I explained my dilemma to him. He gave me some tips on how to stand properly so that I don’t cause so much damage to my back. He also helped me figure out that I need to not go home and just sit at night. He gave me some stretching exercises to do.
